Mondays

Everybody dreads Mondays...except me, and especially not Emiry and Elli. Doug is off of work and Mondays and Tuesdays and we just love having him home. Everything always seems easier when there is two parents home at night...bathing, feeding, cuddling. Here is a snapshot right before bed and you can see just how much the girls enjoy having Doug home.

Grandma 'Nise

Today, the girls are off to Grandma's house. They were all packed and ready to go. Of course, I couldn't let them say their good-byes before snapping a few pictures.

Nails

For Emiry's birthday, she recieved a nail dryer and fingernail accessories. Before the nail dryer fell to it's death down the stairs :(, we were all walking around with rainbow nails! Doug even had his toes done lol.

Birthdays!

My beautiful Emirsann celebrated her 4th birthday this weekend. It is hard to believe that I have been blessed with "mommyhood" for four years. At times, yes, it is stressful, but I couldn't ask for anything more rewarding in my life!

Here are some pictures of Aunt Sarah and Emiry playing make-up before we went to the hotel and spent time at CoCo Keys!

Puppy Play

We have all heard of horse play...well, this is better know as puppy play! Emiry and our boxer Chloe insist on wrestling with each other EVERY night. This can go on for an hour or more. They box, wrestle, play tug of war, and have howling contests. It is really quite humorous. The picture to follow really isn't that high of quality, but it sure does tell a story!

Candy Jewelry

As promised, some candy pictures! The girls, along with Doug and I, spent the morning making candy necklaces and bracelets. It was fun to make and fun to eat. Even the string was candy.

No Title for Today

There is no title for today. Or for the past three days as a matter of fact. As you will see in the picture to follow, Elli is battling a sinus infection...and I am pretty sure that I am too. I ran a fever all weekend and today, spent 12 hours at a nursing clinical. There it is- my excuse for my brief hiatus from blog world. I am promising fun pictures tomorrow-of candy necklace making. But for today, there is no title, and the only little thing that might spark a little inspiration: a HOT shower and a WARM bed.

Poor baby :( One of the worst feelings in the world is when you have a little one not feeling well.

Inspirations: Ice Cream

The Schwan's Man comes and visits us once a month. Emiry finds great joy in picking out a new flavor of ice cream. This month's choice was Confetti Cake. I will let the pictures tell the story!

Inspirations: Finger Paint

These cold days are giving us plenty of opportunities in the house to craft a.k.a. make a mess. We started off "pudding painting" with chocolate pudding, cheerioes, and Reeses Pieces. This was fun...but the girls thought it was more fun to eat than decorate the paper plate! So then we moved on to real finger painting!

The girls favorite movie at the time is Ramona and Beezus. In the movie, Ramona entertains her little sister with toe puppets. This is the girls trying to paint toe puppets on themselves!

Inspirations: Emirsann

This cold weather has found the girls and I in the house...cuddling, watching movies, and doing any craft possible. Today consisted of play-doh, pudding painting, and finger painting! This picture is of a ring Emiry made out of her play-doh. She tells me that her boyfriend, Justin Bieber, gave it to her! I just love her imagination!

Inspirations: Snow Days

Snow Days! Snow Days! Snow Days!

The girls could not wait to get out into the snow, we have had close to 8 inches and the snow is still falling beautifully. I just hope the darn wind doesn't start to blow because then we could have a mess. Most of Omaha is shut down: schools, businesses, clinics - but this is not going to slow down my girls! Elli was a little scared of the snow and only walked in the places that Doug had already scooped. Emiry, on the other hand, was making snow angels and enjoying Doug scooping the snow right on her!I am not a snow fan, but seeing my princesses enjoy it, made me like the snow just a tad more.

Inspirations: Girl's Night In

With Doug working at night, the girls and I try to take one night a week to veg out, stay up really late, and cuddle while watching a movie. Last night we watched Ramona and Beezus, curled up in the sleeping bags, and had a blast. I cherish these memories.

I also thought that I would share a little "Kid's Say The Darndest Things" moment:

Today, I handed Emiry one piece of candy-
Emiry: "Mom, Aren't you going to give me two pieces of candy?"
Me: "No Emiry, we just got done eating lunch."
Emiry: "But Mom, I thought you loved me!"
