Chasing :)

The girls thought it would be a great idea to run some energy off by chasing each other around the house. These aren't the greatest pictures but the facial expressions are priceless.

Mondays

Everybody dreads Mondays...except me, and especially not Emiry and Elli. Doug is off of work and Mondays and Tuesdays and we just love having him home. Everything always seems easier when there is two parents home at night...bathing, feeding, cuddling. Here is a snapshot right before bed and you can see just how much the girls enjoy having Doug home.

Grandma 'Nise

Today, the girls are off to Grandma's house. They were all packed and ready to go. Of course, I couldn't let them say their good-byes before snapping a few pictures.

Candy Jewelry

As promised, some candy pictures! The girls, along with Doug and I, spent the morning making candy necklaces and bracelets. It was fun to make and fun to eat. Even the string was candy.

Inspirations: Ice Cream

The Schwan's Man comes and visits us once a month. Emiry finds great joy in picking out a new flavor of ice cream. This month's choice was Confetti Cake. I will let the pictures tell the story!

Inspirations: Finger Paint

These cold days are giving us plenty of opportunities in the house to craft a.k.a. make a mess. We started off "pudding painting" with chocolate pudding, cheerioes, and Reeses Pieces. This was fun...but the girls thought it was more fun to eat than decorate the paper plate! So then we moved on to real finger painting!

The girls favorite movie at the time is Ramona and Beezus. In the movie, Ramona entertains her little sister with toe puppets. This is the girls trying to paint toe puppets on themselves!

Inspirations: Snow Days

Snow Days! Snow Days! Snow Days!

The girls could not wait to get out into the snow, we have had close to 8 inches and the snow is still falling beautifully. I just hope the darn wind doesn't start to blow because then we could have a mess. Most of Omaha is shut down: schools, businesses, clinics - but this is not going to slow down my girls! Elli was a little scared of the snow and only walked in the places that Doug had already scooped. Emiry, on the other hand, was making snow angels and enjoying Doug scooping the snow right on her!I am not a snow fan, but seeing my princesses enjoy it, made me like the snow just a tad more.

Inspirations: Girl's Night In

With Doug working at night, the girls and I try to take one night a week to veg out, stay up really late, and cuddle while watching a movie. Last night we watched Ramona and Beezus, curled up in the sleeping bags, and had a blast. I cherish these memories.

I also thought that I would share a little "Kid's Say The Darndest Things" moment:

Today, I handed Emiry one piece of candy-
Emiry: "Mom, Aren't you going to give me two pieces of candy?"
Me: "No Emiry, we just got done eating lunch."
Emiry: "But Mom, I thought you loved me!"

Inspirations: January 1 - January 5 2011

This was actually taken a few months ago at Vala's Pumpkin Patch. Emiry was in the mood for pictures and kept begging me to take more. Her eyes and smile are just gorgeous.

My beautiful Elliette Grace always has little drool spots on her shirt. She has large tonsils and we are hoping to get them removed soon. She just had a sleep study and we are awaiting the results. The shirt really does say it all in this picture. She is spoiled rotten....but perfect in every way!

I call this "Rock Star!" Emiry is always posing for the camera. Also, take notice of her outfit. I am sure I will have many posts of her random outfits. She is always changing clothes!

Elli absolutely loves Buzz Lightyear and the Toy Story gang. This particular pictures shows her "napping" on the steps with Buzz and Dora. As you can see in the picture, the nap didn't last long as soon after the picture was snapped, she started giggling!

This is the slumber party picture. Emiry and Elli received Pillow Pet Blankets and Pillows and sleeping bags for Christmas. When they crawled in bed this night, Doug tucked them in with what seems like every blanket they had. They were sure comfortable and the endless giggles lasted for about an hour before they had "sweet dreams!"
